2024 Humanities and Social Sciences Lecture

Stanford-Taiwan Social Science Fellowship Program(STSS) and EVERC hosted 2024 Humanities and Social Sciences Lecture. We invited Prof. Wendy Cho to present " A GPU-enabled Generative Adversarial Causal Inference Model for Health Research" . Electronic Health Records (EHR) contain granular and multifaceted information on individual health care, including, for instance, laboratory results, visit frequency, and payment methods. We discuss some health disparities uncovered from EHR during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as computational models that we develop to take advantages of these large stores of data.
Subsidy of attending conference abroad

Japan Yukata experiences

The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association was invited to the Japan Affairs course at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. They introduced various aspects of yukata and showcased the unique and diverse facets of Japanese yukata culture. Students also had the opportunity to experience wearing yukata in the classroom, learning how to correctly tie the obi (sash) under the guidance of the instructor. This event not only enriched the course content and broadened students’ international perspectives but also provided a deeper understanding of the values and spirit behind Japanese culture. It also enhances the capability of students to communicate with the foreigners.
EVERC x Yatav MOU Signing Ceremony

EVERC and Yatav Corporation of Korea signed an MOU on March 11, 2024, regarding the Metaforest Metaverse. Both parties will collaborate to develop a vocational education app on the Metaforest platform and jointly promote its application in the field of vocational education to drive innovative development in this area.
AI, Vocational Education and Global Regulation Symposium 2024/03/01
Stanford-Taiwan Social Science Fellowship Program(STSS), Graduate Institute of digital Learning and Education(GIDLE) and EVERC hosted the symposium on "AI, Vocational Education, and Global Standards" This symposium invited three international scholars from the University of Agder, University of Bergen, and the National University of Singapore to discuss the impact of generative AI on vocational education, AI development and regulations in the EU, the USA, and China, and the application of generative AI in vocational education. The aim was to help participants understand the dark side of AI and gain a comprehensive understanding of its future development in vocational education.
EVERC, GIDLE, and Korea University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for student exchange 2024/01/15
Korea University, with a history spanning 100 years, is renowned as one of Korea's top universities (S.K.Y.), along with Seoul National University and Yonsei University. This year marks the inaugural student exchange, a significant stride in the internationalization efforts of the Center.
